Haters

The top ten things we hate right now (not in any particular order):
1) Super Bowl.
2) Christina Aguilera singing the national anthem.
3) The half time show at the Super Bowl...any Super Bowl. BORing.
4) Light beer. (This one is Donna's)
6) Lindsey Lohan. She needs to just lock herself in a closet for awhile.
7) Charlie Sheen. He's just not funny anymore.
8) Taxes.
9) Anyone who doesn't have to pay into their taxes.
10) Cilantro and any kind of dip with cilantro in it.

My sister is a Hero

My sister Donna risked her life today and went out of her way to help a small lost boy wandering in the middle of a busy street. We were a block from home and in the middle of the street ahead of  us was a small boy, around 3 or 4 years old, crying and calling for his Mommy.
Donna screamed, "Stop! STOP! It's a little boy!"  She was jumping out of the car even before I could stop and ran over and pulled the boy off the street onto the sidewalk. Other cars slowed down and looked. Donna kept saying, "Don't worry. Don't cry. We'll find your Mommy." A very nice lady also stopped and tried speaking Spanish to the little boy. He just kept crying, "Mommy!" and pointed down the street. I called 911 and after about 20 minutes a white car pulled up with a hysterical Mother inside. The little boy had just walked out of the house and yard before they even knew he was gone.
Donna was shaking and we all started crying.
My sister is a hero.

The Writing Process

1) Husband doesn't want a new shade on the kitchen window.
2) Go buy new shade for kitchen window.
3) Sit in parking lot at Anna's Linens feeling guilty.
4) Sister says, "What!? Is he the window police now?"
5) Start writing on calender in purse while laughing hysterically.

"Window police M'am. Put the shade down and put your hands on your head and no one will get hurt."

Food for Thought

Should we worry about the resemblance of our Governor to Mr. Burns?

Now

Too much has happened in the past few years to reflect upon. Too many things will happen to anticipate. So for now, just this moment in time, this now... I am content.
